As an LPGA Class A Teaching Professional with over 25 years of experience, Sandy has worked at top private golf clubs & resorts across the country from Hawaii, to Aspen, to Hilton Head. For the past 3 years, she’s part of the instructional staff at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort in the Palm Springs area, and until recently, served as the lead female golf instructor for Bird Golf Schools at their Southern California locations.
Sandy grew up learning to play golf on Maui at the Wailea Golf Resort. Upon graduation, she received a full golf scholarship, played collegiately for the University of Hawaii & UCLA, then went on to spent a number of years playing professionally.
In addition to having earned over 300 hrs of instructional training with the LPGA, Sandy’s experience includes time spent with notable instructors such as Jim Hardy, Amy Alcott, and Marlene Floyd. Working alongside some of the game’s best instructors has holistically shaped Sandy’s understanding of the game of golf, how students best learn, and what their motivations are.
Sandy’s teaching philosophy is not “one-size-fits-all”. Instead, she adapts her approach to her student’s individual swing, goals, and communication style. She makes it a goal to connect with her students not just as golfers, but as people who share a common bond of a love for the game of golf. Sandy has over two decades of experience organizing golf events, including couples’ and women’s golf schools, women’s golf getaways & retreats to top golf locations. She offers a range of instructional experiences, from weekend golf getaways to premier California wine regions like Napa Valley and Santa Ynez Valley, for her ‘ Swing Sip & Savor’ Golf Retreats, as well as abroad to destinations such as Hawaii, the Colorado Rockies, and the Mediterranean. Sandy is committed to curating exceptional and memorable golf experiences for her clients.
